Orange & Carrot Muffins

Friday, 31 March 2017

I really like Easter.

New flowers and things sprouting, busy birds nesting and gathering food,  the feeling of spring and summer in the air. Easter signals new beginnings.

At Easter, the days are lighter and longer, the weather is (generally!) better and there are daffodils and other spring flowers everywhere. Light makes everyone more cheerful!

Apple & Frankfurters Muffins

Friday, 9 September 2016

We've been back from holidays for over a week now. Our luggage is still sitting in the living room. Next to a mountain of washing, a few empty sun cream bottles and some beach toys.

I wonder whether we want to keep the holiday dream alive or we are just lazy.

Pineapple Buckwheat Muffins

I have always wanted a dog. Since I was a child I pled my parents for one, but they always said no. Sometimes our house was not big enough. Other times we had no budget for the vet and food costs. Most of times it was just not the right time. So I grew feeling that I was missing something. A dog to share my games with, to walk, to stroke and hug. A furry friend to love.

During my primary school years I must admit was not very popular. I never had a “best friend” and I used to struggle with social events like birthdays and school parties. And I was so desperate to have a dog that I remember pretending I had one, which didn't have a good effect in my classmates when they discovered the truth.

I dreamed about finding an astray dog somewhere, rescuing it and taking it home so my mum had no choice but letting me keep it. But that never happened.

Gardener Muffins with Garlic Mayo

Children are just unpredictable. My sons are at this amazing age when everything is possible. From flying to the moon on a kitchen stool to inventing a magic ball powerful enough to provide the whole city with unlimited energy.

We have been working really hard for The Big Cake Show and they are so excited all the time that it is literally impossible to relax them at bed time.

Yesterday, it was a bit too late. And they were both in my bed chatting non-stop. Sometimes, the things they are telling me are the kind of things that are so interesting and fantastic that rather than try and stop them, I encourage them to keep talking so I can hear more about whatever the story is about. But it was getting really late and we all needed a good rest, so I asked them to calm down and try to sleep while I went to brush my teeth.

Frankfurters & Apple Muffins

Lunch time in an office is one of the most interesting moments to take part in from an anthropological point of view. You can learn a lot from people by looking at their eating habits.

From my experience over quite a few years in different office environments, I would say that there are 6 types of people:

Summer Squash Savoury Muffins

Sunday, 22 September 2013

Yes, I know. Muffins are supposed to be sweet.

But not everything in this life can be sweet. Sorry for disappointing you.

I can perfectly understand your skepticism.

But we can give to savoury food a lovely and tempting muffing shape.

Yes, this is going to be another self confession moment. Muffins are the second best thing in the world. After jam.
