Cachopo or Filled Breaded Steak

Friday, 24 March 2017

So.... Spring is supposed to be here. And I'm supposed to be enjoying the last months of my pregnancy in the sunshine, organising picnics and frolicking.

Instead, I started with a lovely tonsillitis that has ended up with a nasty chest infection.

Exactly what I needed. So now, instead of sleeping 3 or 4 hours per night, I'm struggling with a blocked nose and terrible cough as soon as I try to lay in bed.

Over the last two weeks the coughing has been so bad that I almost wee myself just to add to the misery. Oh the beauty of pregnancy!

Serrano Ham & Cottage Cheese Triangles

Yay!!!! I did it!!! Last Sunday I run my first half marathon! I completed the 21K run in just… 2 hours and 12 minutes!!!

When I arrived there were lots of people warming up. Chatting. Laughing. I was really nervous, feeling a bit lonely, and not sure about what I was just about to do. But then, I was given my number, and that was it. I was runner 52. I was ready. And I was determined to do it.

The run got delayed due to part of the route closed because of criminal investigation. Apparently the police found a dead body somewhere... That gave us something to chat about while the organisers rearranged everything.

Baked Figs & Serrano Tagliatelle

Do you have any quirks? I do. Lots of them. I love to wear my pyjamas inside out, to spread butter on the edges of my toast and to create spreadsheets for everything.  But probably my most remarkable one is the way I do shopping.

I really have a fixation with shopping organisation, starting from where and where not to park in the supermarket. Because of course, more than a 30 seconds walk from the car until the sliding door is far too long to be walked. I always pick a trolley, it doesn't matter if I only need a bag of crisps, I have to pick it just in case. If I've managed to park near one of those trolleys in the car park, I can't pick any of them. It needs to be one right next to the supermarket door and of course, I would never ever pick one with rubbish, a ticket or someone else's shopping list.
