Third Anniversary!

Happy birthday Tiny Marmalade! You are 3 years old!

I must admit I'm glad to see that is not only me who's getting older. I wonder if blog ages are like dog ages? In that case, if 1 blog year equals 7 human ones, this blog is in fact older than me!! Wow, I think I feel better now.

Yes, I may be struggling to accept I am 35 years old now. Thirty-five!
Anyway, I can't believe my blog is already 3 years old. By that time, I was young and inexperienced, and had definitely not a clue about  what I was doing.

However, 3 years later I'm still the same hiperactive, passionate, sensitive and crazy person that loves cooking impossible recipes. Is there anything better in the world that seeing your loved ones enjoying something you've prepared?

Food is edible love.

This year I've tried to cook using more local ingredients, such as this Pear & Cobnuts Crumble or this Parsnips & Mascarpone Soup. Slow food I think this is called now. It means basically food that is produced or prepared in accordance with local culinary traditions, typically using high-quality locally sourced ingredients.
I have discovered new ingredients. For example I discovered kale, which I've been using incessantly in different recipes such as this Kale, Pomegranate, Nuts & Quinoa Salad and this Green Monster Smoothie. And did you know there was a yellow beetroot version? Me neither until I prepared this Yellow Beetroot & Goats Cheese Quiche

But I have also had fun, as with this Seriously Spooky Stuffed Peppers and this Dark Side Chocolate, Almond & Cherry Cake.

And of course I've started and stopped and started and stopped exercising, as I told you about in this Gin, Rhubarb & Strawberry Crumble. and when I was preparing for my fist half marathon with this Fruit, Seeds & Chocolate Energy Bars.

I have also been very random some times, as when I fantasized about winning the lottery in this Coconut, Lime & Nuts Crusted Seafood post or when I tried to send a "hidden" message to my husband in this Pineapple Buckwheat Muffins post.

But If I had to choose my favourite recipe this year, I think it would be this Tomato Tarte Tatin. Amazingly delicious, surprising and easy to prepare!

And this year, again, I would like to thank everyone who has helped, supported, purchased or advised in any way. My little big family, specially to my AMAZING husband and my two little helpers. To my mum, for being incredibly supportive this year. My friends for being always there and demonstrate that friendship know nothing about languages, distance or time. Alan, for being the best provider ever (for third year in a row!). And to all the different people, magazines, stockists, suppliers, partners, customers and everyone that has been involved in one way or another.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

For those who wish to know more of what is happening in my kitchen in between my posts, please visit me on my Facebook page or Twitter page where you will find updates and photos that I do not normally publish here.

Looking forward to another year of crazy recipes, lots of fun and tiny marmalade.

Love,

Paloma.
