Traditional Fish Pie

Friday, 15 November 2013

Since I have children I always keep a camera no more than a metre far away from me. I can easily take more than 2000 pictures per year (now they still allow me) and then I normally produce an annual digital album. Yes, I'm a nightmare.

There are pictures from our holidays, birthdays and special events. But there are also pictures of mundane things like family lunches, cooking, bath time, playground, etc. And yes, also this kind of pictures our parents take deliberately to make us feel completely embarrassed in the future. Lots of them.

Crunchy Muesly Chicken

This week I would like to talk you about films. Yes, because this is a food blog and what a better place to eat than in front of a screen. This is exactly where and when the best and most original recipes are invented.

Salt and sugar popcorn.

Nesquik popcorn.

Popcorn dipped in pate, coleslaw, peanut butter, jam, cream cheese, ice cream, honey….

Fact: I don´t like pork.

The exception that proves the rule: I love bacon. And cured ham. And gammon. And ribs, especially with barbecue sauce. And doughnuts (let's not kid ourselves, doughnuts are around 90% pork fat).

And, of course, I deeply love sausages.

But honestly, I don´t like pork.

Food is a powerful memory. From the day we arrive into this world until our very last days, food is whenever a social event takes place, no matter how happy or sad it is.

It’s amazing how our taste buds work, linking a particular flavour to some of the most important moments of our life. Sometimes more distinctive than words, music or pictures.

Camembert Mousse Cheesecake

Friday, 18 October 2013

There are three things on the basis of my food pyramid: jam, cheese and cakes. In the next level ice cream, pop corn and blueberries can also be found. Then there is salmon, pretzels, toasts with salted butter and jelly babies. Finally, everything else.

Today´s recipe could perfectly be a square meal, as it contains everything listed on the basis of my food pyramid: jam, cheese and cake.

Let me introduce you to Mr. Camembert Mousse Cheesecake.

A piece of Heaven

Sometimes the destiny makes you discover amazing places.

This time the destiny had women’s name: Jenny and Jemma.

Some days ago I received an email from a cafe interested in my tiny jars. I couldn't be more excited. As I like to know where my tiny jars are going to live, I offered myself to visit them and bring some samples with me. As the day dawned sunny and warm, we decided to go with the kids for a day out.

It-Which-Must-Not-Be-Named Pasty

When I firstly made the Apple and Courgette jam, and I gave it to try to my "quality control board" formed by my 2 years old, my 4 years old and my 34 years old. The unanimous question was:

Is it more applely or more courgetty?

What?

If it´s more courgetty... or more applely....
